Students seek emergency school boarding to avoid exam disruption during snow
Students due to take important exams today were last night urged to arrange emergency overnight boarding at school to avoid any snow disruption.
King's College Taunton head teacher Richard Biggs said the school was unable to alter the dates of this morning's public exams, and advised pupils to organise accommodation on campus.
"May I suggest that if your son or daughter is sitting public exams, and if you face a potentially difficulty journey to school in the morning, you consider boarding them here?" said Mr Biggs on the school website last night.
"The boards will not allow an exam to be taken at any other time in this particular season and if your son or daughter misses an exam they will have to wait until the summer to have another go at it.

"Please note that in every case there will be another chance in the summer, so if your son or daughter does miss an exam tomorrow all is not lost.
"But perhaps caution is the best policy and spending the night here may be a good idea.
"On the other hand, if your son or daughter is not taking a public exam, please do not take risks in bringing them to school."
