Strugglers put to sword as Gillingham Town earn first win in four
GILLINGHAM Town claimed their first win in four games with a 3-1 Toolstation Western League Premier Division victory over bottom club Bristol Manor Farm.
The Dorset visitors enjoyed the majority of possession in the early stages of the match, but Manor Farm, who were content to attack on the break, found themselves 1-0 ahead at the interval after being awarded a penalty for handball ten minutes before half time, which they duly converted.
The Gills were awarded a penalty of their own after eight minutes of the second period and Lee Gale made no mistake as he brought his side level. Four minutes later, Gale's strike partner Matt Chant set up Aaron Rodriguez who found the top left corner of the goal from the edge of the box to give Gillingham the lead.
Danny Thompson was able to find the same corner of the net to seal the win for the away side, after he latched onto a poor defensive clearance and fired home.

The win was Gillingham's first in the league since August, mainly due to the team playing in cup matches throughout September, and manager Adrian Foster was delighted with the victory.
He said: "We had five first team players out which was a massive blow for us but I have to give credit to the lads that came in because they were fantastic.
"We had to win the game and obviously being away from the league for so long it was very pleasing to get the three points."
Striker Benjani Ben Salem has left Hardings Lane for Evo Stik Southern League outfit Bridgwater Town.
