Frome Running Club chair Georgie Starkie is ranked as the 70th best women's marathon runner in the UK this year after setting a PB at the Frankfurt Marathon.

After going inside 3hrs 10mins at the London Marathon in April, Starkie's months of hard training paid off as she completed the race in 2:58:05, which was enough for 32nd place in the women's standings.

Meanwhile, four Frome runners travelled to the Three Peaks of Dorset race, also known as The Stickler. The first Frome runner to complete the scenic off-road course, which includes three vicious climbs, was Ian Holmes (MV40) in 1:23:27.

Benjamin Barrell was next home in 1:28:47, Chris Stringer completed the race in 1:36:46 and Helen Corbett finished in 1:40:31.

Frome were also represented at the annual Great South Run by Sheila Harrison, who completed the race in 1:43:56.

There were Frome runners at two Parkrun events on the same weekend. Dan Berryman was joined by Damon Lanfear for the Southampton event, clocking 19:32 and 20:54 respectively.

At the same time, Stringer led home the Frome contingent in 21:09 at the Southwick race in Trowbridge. The other Frome finishers were Ali Smith (MV60, 22:54), Paul Gardner (MV50, 25:57), James Barrell (32:29) and Ben Barrell (32:33).

Last week's report on the Amsterdam Half Marathon missed out Frome Running Club's Gemma Bull, who finished in 2:15:05, beating her PB by five minutes.
