Stam could be out for the season
Yeovil Town defender Stefan Stam could miss the rest of the season after undergoing surgery on his hamstring.
The Dutchman was taken off on a stretcher a week ago as the Glovers lost 1-0 at home to Colchester United.

Initial diagnosis suggests that Stam’s muscle has torn from the bone and he had an operation yesterday.
Manager Terry Skiverton said it was unlikely that the team captain would be back during what has already been an injury-hit campaign for Stam.
“He is having an operation and we’re thinking the worst and he is going to miss the rest of the season, which is a big blow,” said Skiverton.
“But these things happen out there and I think the injury is to do with his hamstring tearing off his bone. It is a really serious injury that he has had and we will have to wait and see what the surgeons say when he comes out.
“Simon Baker, my physio, has gone up with him for the operation today so fingers crossed that it is successful, so that we can get him back as soon as possible.
“If he makes it back for any time this season he has done very well. The worst case scenario is that he will be back for the summer, it is just touch and go whether he will be available this season.”
The Glovers travel to Walsall tonight looking for their first goal and win in three matches. Skiverton admitted concern about the Saddlers’ pitch.
He said: “It is another game on a tough, difficult pitch and they have been on a string of great results.
“It might not be a game for playing with wingers and have people out there (on the wing) trying to get on the ball.”
