Well into rehearsals with only a few weeks to go, Calendar Girls is to be performed at The Merlin Theatre in Frome next month.

Costumes and props appeared to be a relatively easy task for the backstage crew until they came to rehearsal. The props all have to be strategically placed to conceal the cast's modesty. And size really does matter, in this instance.

The prop list has included larger than average buns being made by a local baker to an over sized rabbit costume.

The cast has also followed in the footsteps of the original Calendar Girls and produced a calendar supported by local businesses. These will be available for sale in the foyer during the show which runs from October 1 to October 6. All profits go to Positive Action on Cancer.
