South Western Ambulance Trust’s Council of Governors is holding a public meeting on Thursday, March 21 at 11am.

The council’s governors bring to the Trust a wealth of knowledge and expertise from a variety of industries.

Some Governors are appointed from partner organisations like the police, fire, local authorities and other NHS trusts, while others are elected. Some represent the views of trust staff, while others represent those of the public.

They bring forward the views of constituents from Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, Devon, Dorset, Gloucestershire, Somerset, Wiltshire and the former Avon area to ensure ambulance services continue to be shaped by the very people who use them.

The whole group meets four times a year to consider a range of issues such as service development, performance, patient experience, membership and communications.

A variety of workshops are also held throughout the year.
