A Midsomer Norton mum inspired by her three-year-old daughter overcoming her disability to enjoy sport is raising money for a charity that supports other disabled children and adults.

Mum-of-two Sinead York set up the first Paulton pamper and fair, which takes place between 10am and 4pm on Saturday at the village hall, to raise money for the Dwarf Sports Association (DSA).

Her daughter Sophie has achondroplasia, a form of dwarfism, but refuses to let it slow her down and spends her time dancing, swimming and running.

Mrs York said: "The DSA is a great organisation. It aims to make regular sporting opportunity accessible and enjoyable to anyone and everyone of restricted growth in the UK.

"The patrons Ellie Simmonds and Matt Whorewood along with the DSA members who took part in the Paralympics have been a great inspiration to Sophie and many others."

Highlights of the fair include a raffle of festive treats, a silent auction for a Mulberry wallet, craft stalls and pampering stands.

There are still a few spaces available for craft and pamper stands. For more information call Mrs York on 07725 357703 or email sinead.york@gmail.com.
