Songs fill up emptied cathedral
A special event on Saturday gave ordinary people the chance to fill Wells Cathedral with their own voices.
With all the chairs removed the empty space of Wells Cathedral was lit by candlelight, as in medieval times.
Following its success last year, Candy Verney, who runs group singing workshops across the UK ran another Soul Soundings on Saturday with participants singing simple sacred songs.
This event was open to all, from experienced musicians to beginners. All profits will go to Barenboim-Said Foundation, which promotes co-existence and interaction among cultures through music, and the spirit of peace, dialogue and reconciliation.
