Somerset's Jos Buttler cannot save England from ODI defeat to New Zealand
Two sensational sixes from Wedmore's Jos Buttler could not save England's cricketers from defeat to New Zealand in the opening one-day international this morning.
The Somerset CCC batsman continued his fine tour by smashing 21 runs off 13 balls, including a phenomenal pull shot which ended up in the first-aid enclosure at Seddon Park in Hamilton.

However, despite a solid foundation from Ian Bell (64), Jonathan Trott (68) and Joe Root (56), England were dismissed for 258 and New Zealand were able to pass their target with three wickets and seven deliveries to spare.
It was the Kiwis' fifth-successive ODI win against England and they will be looking to extend the sequence in Napier on Wednesday (1am GMT).
