Somerset remains on flood alert after 24 hours of heavy rain
An area of South Somerset remains at high risk of flooding this afternoon after heavy overnight rain saw river levels rise.
One of the 15 Environment Agency flood warnings currently in place for the South West affects the county, although the heavy rain is forecast to clear this evening.

A flood warning has been issued for roads and riverside locations near the River Axe (upper)
The warning for the River Axe (upper) includes riverside locations and roads between Winsham and Axminster, including Chard Junction, Coaxden Cottages and Weycroft.
In its warning, the Environment Agency said: "River levels in the Axe are continuing to rise in response to the recent rainfall. Flooding of properties close to the river is likely.

"The weather forecast is for persistent and heavy rain to continue to move across Devon throughout Friday.
"Rain is likely to be intense through this morning and afternoon but should clear late on Friday. Large rainfall accumulations are forecast on high ground."
The Met Office has a severe weather warning for rain in place until 11pm tonight. It is a yellow warning for Somerset, but a more severe amber warning for parts of Cornwall and South Devon.
Forecasters predicted around 30mm of rainfall in most parts of Somerset, rising to as much as 60mm over higher ground.
In addition to its 15 flood warnings in place, the Environment Agency had 40 flood alerts active for the South West at midday today.
By 6pm, the flood warnings had reduced to 12 but flood alerts had increased to 43.
