Five pubs in Somerset are to have defibrillators installed in case of emergencies. David Fothergill, county councillor for North Curry, bought them from St John Ambulance using funding given to county councillors for public health initiatives.

The devices will be installed at the King Alfred in Burrowbridge, the Royal Oak in Stoke St Gregory, the Bird in Hand in North Curry, the Greyhound in Staple Fitzpaine and the Bell Inn in Creech St Michael. One-hour first-aid sessions will be held in the region next month.
