Somerset ice warning extended into Monday as freezing temperatures bite
Ice will continue to pose a big risk across Somerset for the next 24 hours as freezing temperatures continue to bite.
The Met Office is forecasting temperatures as low as -5 °C tonight, following on from last night's sub-zero temperatures which has frozen much of the snow still lying on ground across the county.
A severe weather warning for ice is in place across Somerset, and the entire South West, until midday today.
A second yellow warning has now been issued for tomorrow morning, and it is in place from midnight until midday.

Temperatures today could rise to as high as 5 °C but it will feel much colder due to the cloud cover, the Met Office said.
The odd sleet or snow shower is still possible over higher ground, which will add to the threat of ice when temperatures freeze tonight.
Met Office chief forecaster Frank Saunders said: "Although some further slight snowfalls are likely, with 1cm to 2 cm of fresh snow in a few places, the focus switches to ice, with temperatures staying below zero over snow cover for many areas.
"The public should be aware of the risk of localised disruption to transport during this spell of wintry weather."
