Somerset business duo arrested on suspicion of £100,000 tax fraud
A man and woman from Somerset have been arrested on suspicion of VAT and Income Tax fraud estimated to exceed £100,000, and money laundering offences, HM Revenue & Customs has revealed.
HMRC criminal investigators arrested the duo at a residential property in south Somerset yesterday morning.
HMRC spokesman Bob Gaiger said: “HMRC take tax fraud seriously and will not hesitate to investigate those suspected of stealing public funds.
"Anyone with information about individuals who may be involved in VAT fraud can contact the Customs’ Hotline on 0800 59 5000.”

The man and woman from Somerset have been bailed until August 7, 2012. Investigations are ongoing.
