Somerset batsman Nick Compton keen to make England Test impact in New Zealand
Somerset batsman Nick Compton is relishing the prospect of adding another overseas tour destination to his fledgling career with the England Test side.
Compton, 29, played a pivotal role in England’s historic Test series win in India before Christmas, and will be hoping to do the same when the three-match series gets under way in New Zealand next month.

The upcoming trip represents Compton’s first to New Zealand for 11 years, since he played for England in the Under-19 World Cup.
“It is a beautiful country. It is a great place to go. I love my travelling and will take my camera again – like I did in India – and hopefully get a few pictures out there,” Compton told the ECB website.

“Playing professional cricket is a great life. You get to travel to these countries, get first-hand experience of the people and the cultures so, apart from the cricket, I am really looking forward to going to New Zealand.”
He added: “It feels like ages [since I was last there]. Who would have thought that, ten years later, I would be standing here about to embark upon another first-team tour? I am very proud. Hopefully I can make the most of it.”
