Somerset Rebels win League Cup after tense decider at Ipswich Witches
Somerset Rebels have won the League Cup after a nail-biting decider at Ipswich Witches tonight.
The Rebels lost 51-42 on the night, but had taken a 14-point lead up to Suffolk after last Friday's home leg at the Oaktree Arena and won 95-90 on aggregate.
It was certainly a tense affair, and the Witches were 12 points up after ten heats this evening following back-to-back 5-1 heat wins.
But Craig Cook, in as a replacement for injured Rebels skipper Jason Doyle, produced heroics in heat 11 when given the black and white helmet cover to race for double points.

Cook was first home and, although Alex Davies didn't trouble the scorers, it was still a 6-3 Rebels win which halted the Ipswich momentum.
It brought Somerset back to 39-30 down on the night and, more importantly, five points up on aggregate.
After that, it was about consolidation and the Rebels did just that, holding their hosts to 3-3s in the next three heats to end heat 14 five points clear and claim the League Cup.
Jesper B Monberg then won heat 15 for the new holders, with Morten Risager and Leigh Lanham ensuring another 3-3 for the Witches.
Cook led the way with 15 points for Somerset, while Monberg scored 11 and Kyle Newman 9+2.
The Rebels will return to Somerset as League Cup holders for the first leg of the Premier League Grand Final against Scunthorpe Scorpions tomorrow night.
The Rebels host the Scorpions at the Oaktree Arena on Friday evening (7.30pm), and will be looking to build up another healthy lead to defend in the away leg on Sunday afternoon (4pm).
