Somerset Rebels Christmas Cracker speedway meeting postponed for second time
Somerset Rebels have been forced to postpone their Christmas Cracker speedway meeting for the second time due to bad weather.
Sixteen top riders were due to do battle in the Salt Express-sponsored meeting at the Oaktree Arena tomorrow night, after the original event was rained off in December.

But the severe weather warning for snow tomorrow has left the Somerset promotion with little option but to make the early decision to call the meeting off.
“The weather forecast is predicting that we will encounter heavy snowfalls on Friday,” said Rebels promoter Debbie Hancock.

"With that in mind we felt that it was best for all concerned, especially the riders and the fans, if we made the early decision to call off the meeting as it will save people any unnecessary travel arrangements.
“It does seem like the weather is conspiring against us as far as the meeting is concerned.
"The original attempt to stage it just after Christmas was postponed due to heavy rain and now it’s snow that is the problem, but we will give it one more try."
A new date for the Christmas Cracker meeting has been scheduled for Friday, February 8, with the first heat starting at 7.30pm.
