Society prepares to stage 'World Premiere'
Chew Stoke Dramatic Society's next production will be the comic farce
World Premiere
by Charles Mander.
Members will be performing it on Friday and Saturday March 19 and 20 at the Church Hall, Chew Stoke.
This will be a one act play with supper, consisting of a hot meal, dessert and coffee, with the play being performed between courses.
World Premiere is a fast-paced comedy about the trials of an amateur dramatic society gathering for the technical rehearsal of a play written by their producer Gordon Truelove (played by Andrew Tromans).
As the set, director and stage crew are missing, newest recruit Val (Lys Hall), eager but totally inept, frantically tries to improvise with a few chairs and a battered settee.
Matters become increasingly frenetic with the arrival of Gordon's dypsomaniac wife (Wendy Talbot), closely followed by Arnold Brisket (Andrew Troup) and Mrs Partridge (Diana Wheatley Price).
Tickets, which cost £8 , are available from the village shop, or can be pre-ordered by calling 01275 332110.
