Snow: waste and recycling collection in Mendip, Sedgemoor, South and West Somerset
Don't bother dragging your snow-topped bins to the kerbside in Mendip today as waste services are frozen.
However, there is some hope for residents of Sedgemoor and West Somerset of having their bins emptied, but that all depends on access.

Down in South Somerset, crews were not able to leave the depot at noon, meaning the majority of collections will be missed. Most recycling collections, which come from a different depot, will also not happen. The exception is Ilminster, where crews hope to empty both bins and recycling where access allows.
Subject to weather, missed collections will be dealt with tomorrow (Saturday).

Advice from Somerset Waste Partnership is to get your bins and recycling out by 7am on collection days. If you miss it, continue to put your items out for up to three working days later.
