Snow postpones court date for man charged with murder
A man charged with murder had his court date postponed until Monday after the court was closed due to the snow.
Richard Newton appeared before magistrates in Salisbury on Thursday, charged with murdering his wife, Suzanne, in Melksham last Sunday.
The 51-year-old was due to appear before a judge at Bristol Crown Court yesterday.
Mrs Newton’s family yesterday said: “Sue was a much loved mother and daughter. A loyal friend to all who knew her. She was hardworking and her joy came from her son, of whom she was so proud, her little dog and her horses. She will be missed by so many.”
