Snow causes travel problems on roads around Radstock and Frome
Heavy snow fall has left usually busy commuter routes silent as only a handful of motorists attempt the drive to work.
Vehicles could be seen slipping and skidding as drivers struggled to control cars and vans on the A367 from Radstock and Peasedown St John to Bath and the A362 to Frome.

Many other roads are virtually impassable with those on side roads likely to be stuck till the bad weather conditions subside.
Officers from Avon and Somerset Police are currently attending a number of road traffic incidents across the force area and are warning drivers to only travel if absolutely necessary as weather forecasters anticipate problems with on-going heavy snow fall throughout the day.

It began snowing at around 3am across the Bath & North East Somerset area and settled on both salted and untreated roads.
A spokesman for Bath and North East Somerset Council said: "With road temperatures hovering around freezing road conditions are particularly difficult and drivers are asked to take great care.
Council gritters have been working throughout the night and all of the main roads are currently open although this can change very rapidly if accidents occur. Some disruption will take place and where possible drivers are asked to keep to the main roads. Conditions are expected to remain hazardous throughout the morning."
