Forgive us if we misunderstood the point of your initial letter Mr Bell, however, with the backdrop of the recent Lanes/Cheddar Valley Gazette Awards for Local Heroes, we understood your intention to:

a) Pour cold water on the awards and their recipient's merit by suggesting that "the real hero, etc..." and

b) Paint a negative picture of the skate park before it has a chance to even establish itself.

You will appreciate that after many years of sacrificing time to provide this park for our people, we felt your comments to be at best unhelpful.

If that was not your intention, we welcome the opportunity to understand your motivation in putting pen to paper and repeat our invitation to meet with us so that we can see your view point.

It would seem rather pointless to pursue our misunderstandings in public and we look forward to meeting with you.
