Steven Taylor, who developed diabetes 39 years ago, is a very lucky man after receiving a new kidney from a family member.

His sister Julie Mckernan’s selfless gesture came about after she was found to be a match   and the pair were admitted to hospital on January 7, with both operations taking place the following day.
