Sir Ranulph Fiennes fined £450 for driving at 98mph
Somerset explorer Sir Ranulph Fiennes has been fined after he admitting speeding.
The 68-year-old was caught driving at 98mph in a 70mph zone on the A9 in the Highlands last year. He has now been fined £450 and had five points added to his licence.
Sir Ranulph, from Exford, had originally denied the charge, but he changed his plea.
The explorer is currently in Antarctica attempting an expedition called The Coldest Journey, where he is trying to cross the continent in temperatures that can hit a low of -70C.
