Silver for athletes
King's School Bruton is celebrating the success of its biathletes, who took the team silver in their class at the British Biathlon Championships held in Macclesfield.
Austen Thorne and twin brothers David and Jonathan Bentham, who attend the fourth form at the Somerset co-educational school, clocked up no less than five personal bests between them.
All achieved their best-ever points scores in the event which combines a 200m swim with a 2,000 metre run. Austen, David and Jonathan fully justified their selection to represent the South West of England after winning the team event at the regional championships held at Millfield School, Street, in March.
The Championships are run by Pentathlon GB, the national governing body for the sport, and the organisers of this year's Modern Pentathlon World Championships which will be held at the Crystal Palace National Sports Centre from August 13 to 17.
