Shoppers bag it up!
The Great British Bag-athon event held by Orchard Shopping Centre in aid of the British Heart Foundation received 257 bags of items, which could generate over £5,000 for the charity, as the donated items will now go on to be sold in BHF shops in the local area.
The Great British Bag-athon at Orchard challenged the local community to donate their lovely clothing, toys, DVDs, accessories and CDs. 100% of the proceeds made from the donated items will be invested in the fight against heart disease to help people in the local community.
"Thanks to all the Taunton community who took part in the Bag-athon challenge and donated bags," said Keith Lowe, Centre Manager at Orchard. He continued: "It really will make an enormous difference to the thousands of people in our regions who suffer from heart disease."
There's still time to contribute to The Great British Bag-athon by bringing a bag of lovely things to the nearest BHF shop.
