Shocked community pays tribute to murdered Chard woman Catherine Wells-Burr
More than 3,600 people have visited a website paying tribute to murder victim Catherine Wells-Burr.
The Facebook page R.I.P Catherine Wells-Burr (Official) was set up last night and within two hours, 2,500 people had visited.
A message on the page says it is "run by her closest friends and loved ones."
It invites people to show their support to "friends, family and other loved ones" suffering from the loss of the 23-year-old from Chard.
Catherine was found in her red Ford Focus in a lane off the A358 near Ilminster shortly before 6.30am on Wednesday.
A murder investigation is under way. Detective Chief Inspector Simon Crisp said yesterday: "This is a tragic and brutal incident in which a young woman has needlessly lost her life.
"We are working to establish what happened that led to this car being set ablaze."
Scores of tributes have been posted on the Facebook site overnight, including a poem describing shock and grief over Catherine's sudden death.
Julie Breeze posted: "Rest in peace, such tragic news. Heart goes out to family and friends x"
"Zoe Princess Potter" posted: "I didn't know Catherine . But this news is so shocking when its so close to home. I hope the monster that has done this gets caught."
