Shepton family spending Halloween in Wookey Hole caves
A SHEPTON Mallet family are spending Halloween 200 feet underground in the caves at Wookey Hole.
Deanne Hood, her husband Mark and their nine year old twins, Aaron and Connor, will be entering the caves at 11pm on Thursday (October 31) and will remain there until 6am the following morning.
They will be accompanied through the night by Barry Ghai and Ian Wilce, a professional ghost finding duo from Ghostfinders Paranormal Society using equipment to track paranormal activity in the caves.
Mrs Hood said: “We can’t wait for the challenge. We love the Wookey Hole Caves. It’s a fantastic place to visit. Our minds are open to pretty much everything when it comes to the supernatural. We are apprehensive but really excited at the same time.”

The family will be monitored via a webcam while they undertake the challenge. If they cave in with fear at any time they will need to shout: “I’m too scared; get me out of here,” at which point a member of staff will undo the locks and release the family from the Caves.
If the family successfully achieves the challenge they will be rewarded with a seasonal membership to the Wookey Hole Caves, an overnight stay at the Wookey Hole Hotel and a batch of Wookey Hole Cave Aged Cheddar. They will each receive a signed certificate from the Wookey Hole Witch.
