Shepton Mallet suffer promotion setback with Calne draw
Shepton Mallet 2, Calne Town 2
Shepton Mallet's Toolstation Division 1 promotion hopes took a knock as they conceded a late equaliser against visitors Calne Town.
Calne went ahead when Nathan Phillimore found the net after seven minutes and they could have doubled their lead through Phillimore and Levi Cox before Shepton got their game together.
However, the hosts' response was excellent and Josh Egan levelled the scores from 15 yards after 15 minutes, having run onto Dave Thorne's defence-splitting pass.

Ben Cleverley sent a low drive inches wide moments later, while Calne's Rob Pocock nearly put the ball into his own net as he tried to deal with a vicious cross from Robbie Maggs but the ball ballooned over the bar.
The defences then held the upper hand until the hour mark, with only occasional half-chances before Shepton took the lead when Maggs latched onto Cleverley's through ball, rounded keeper Steve Allison and walked the ball into the goal.
The hosts nearly paid the price for switching off from the restart as Calne's Aaron Ledgister went close to an equaliser.
Shepton started to play deeper as they defended their narrow lead, riding their luck twice in quick succession as Kris Beasley missed a sitter and Dan Lardner hit the bar from a penalty, harshly given against Jon French.
Maggs went close for the home side and Lardner did likewise for Calne, while Shepton substitute James Vincent shot just wide three minutes from time.
The visitors attacked from the goal kick and Ed Quelch had to be quick off his line to divert Cox's attempt for a corner, from which Lee Stevens headed home the equaliser.
Cleverley twice went close to a Shepton winner in stoppage time but the scores remained level.
