Sexey's tribute to Captain James Anthony Townley
Sexey's School in Bruton has paid tribute to a former school pupil who was killed while serving in Afghanistan.
Captain James Anthony Townley from the Corps of Royal Engineers died on Friday, September 21 - the day before his 30th birthday.
Mr Townley was a boarder at Sexey's School from 1994 to 2001.
Raymond McGovern, headteacher at the school, said: "Everyone in the Sexey's community has been saddened by the news.

"James is the only Sexeian who has sadly been killed in the Afghanistan conflict. As a mark of respect and in honour, his name will be added to the school's memorial boards which remembers those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the service of their country."
