Our special guest at the November 1 meeting was Isabel Lillico who kept us entertained with a selection of topical poems and anecdotes, delivered as always in her own delightful way.
Isabel is a well-known member of our church and local community and is always very popular.
She was thanked by George Puddy and later joined us for tea.

Because of the absence of the chairman, Arthur Hill, who had been taken ill, the meeting was in the capable hands of George Puddy.
He welcomed members and expressed the wishes of everyone that Arthur would soon be feeling better.
Minutes were read, but as the treasurer was on holiday, there was no financial statement.
The question of the carol service in Wells Cathedral on December 12 was raised.
If there is enough interest shown, we may be able to hire a mini-bus.
Arrangements will be discussed at the next meeting, on November 15, and Chris Cudlipp will give us his Illustrated Christmas Alphabet.
