Seafood attractions at area's markets
A family business spanning four generations is a regular stop for many shoppers at Mendip's markets.
Hart's Natural Seafoods is a familiar presence at markets across Somerset and has been appearing at the refreshed Shepton Mallet market.

The family-run seafood business was started in 1930 by George Hart as a wholesale fish merchant sending out deliveries across the UK by train, over 80 years later George's grandson Brian and great grandsons Ben and Chris now run the business which attends all of Mendip's markets, in Frome, Glastonbury, Shepton Mallet and Wells. Ben and his team at Hart's are passionate about providing locals with the best fresh fish that they can source.
Ben said: "To ensure we are sourcing the best produce for our customers, we buy our fish from ports like Looe and Grimsby, we also buy direct from day boat fishing, our aim is to buy the freshest fish we can."
Not happy with just selling fresh fish, the team are also keen to educate residents about the fish that they sell and share their 80 years experience.
Dominique Swain, economic regeneration officer at Mendip District Council, said: "The Shepton Mallet Market was re-launched back in May and we have seen a number of new and different stalls attending the weekly market over the last couple of months. Having a flourishing market in Shepton Mallet is important, the tradition in the town is believed to date back as far as 1318."
If you have not had chance to visit Shepton Mallet's Market and fancy serving up a fishy treat, make sure you pop along on Fridays between 10am and 2pm.
Mendip District Council runs six weekly markets across the district:
Frome Market takes place on Wednesdays and Saturdays in the town centre.
Glastonbury Market runs every Tuesday in the Market Place.
Shepton Mallet Market can be found in the Market Place every Friday.
Wells Market is held Wednesdays and Saturdays in the town centre.
Councillor Ron Forrest, portfolio holder for economy, said: "As with many towns across the country, markets are an important part of the local economy."
Traders who are interested in having a stall at the Shepton Mallet market should contact Mendip District Council's market officer, Mark Miller on 07814 425321.
