School record broken
Four determined Downside School students took on the National Three Peaks Challenge and managed to break their school's record by more than half an hour in the process.
Tom and Ben Baldwin, James Hobbs and William White completed the gruelling course in an impressive 17 hours 53 minutes .
The challenge involves climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon, and after setting off from the school in Stratton on the Fosse, they had aimed to complete the course in under 24 hours.
With Scafell Pike behind them they had a record time in sight so they climbed Snowdon at night, a full moon lighting the track.

This climb proved to be the hardest bit of all, and they had to combat strong gusts and low cloud.
Now they are already planning their next challenges, which include mountain-trekking in Iceland and skiing the Haute Route from Chamonix in France to Zermatt in Switzerland.
