Children and parents from all over Somerset attended an open morning at the German Saturday School in Frome.

Families came from the Frome area, Bath and Yeovil to the event at Frome Community College.

While pupils were having a German lesson with teacher Angelika Davey, parents and visitors enjoyed refreshments and homemade delicacies from the cake buffet in a classroom next door.

Visitors took the opportunity to learn about the school and met bilingual families.

The German Saturday School runs on four Saturdays each term and tuition is aimed at children with at least one German-speaking parent.

People who would like to find out more about the school or other activities in the German community should go along on a Saturday between 10.30am and 12.30pm.
