Disturbing and downright funny
Antonia Grove gives one of her most remarkable performances in this virtuoso display of disguise and derangement created especially for her by Wendy Houstoun at Frome's Merlin Theatre, in Somerset, on Tuesday, February 21 at 7.45pm.
In Small Talk Antonia embodies the personae of real-life American actresses whose interviews are "fed" to her through earphones.

Dolled up as her alter egos, Antonia jumps between the actresses' celebrity chatter and her own personal performance commentary to undercut the audience's sense of familiarity with a disturbing feeling of unreality.
Layered with Wendy Houstoun's trademark dance movement vocabulary and gesture, the effect of Small Talk is simultaneously arresting, disturbing and downright funny.
Wendy Houstoun stands out as one of the most original artists of her generation.
She has a long and impressive track record of outstanding solo work that she has toured nationally and internationally.
In her first ever such creation for another performer, Houstoun channels her capacity to make lucid and humorous observations on contemporary culture into Small Talk.
Using stand-up singing, sit down talking, monosyllabic dance and fast talking movement, the metamorphic Grove embraces the chameleon desire to be all things to all people.
Tickets cost £12 and the show is recommended for ages 14 and over.
There is a pre-show supper option at 6.45pm – this needs to be pre-booked and costs an extra £6.
