Ruddick ace rules the roost
New vice-captain Brad Ruddick ensured the Isle of Wedmore Golf Club enjoyed an explosive start to 2013 by holing out with his tee shot on the par-three second on New Year's Day.
Ruddick's ace arrived in the yellow ball bowmaker, which was being used to ease players back into the game, and inspired his team of Chris Norris, John Melwani and Bob Jones to victory by 12 points.
Their total of 126 was too good for the rest of the field, with runners-up Josh Barwell, Scott Perry, John Russell and Ian Robson's 114 pushing Rob Davis, Dominic Channon, Don Edmundson and Ben Barwell into third place on 113.
