Rowe masters the hills for Frome
Four members of Frome Running Club took on the Beacon Batch Fell Race, which includes 1,000 feet of climbing on a five-mile course.
After a ten-minute walk to the start line, competitors faced an immediate tough uphill climb and, after a few flat miles, a steep downhill to the finish.
Mark Rowe (MV40) led Frome home in a speedy 39mins 42secs, followed by Steve Frankl (39:56), Kevin Duffy (MV40, 51:49 PB) and Mark Aston (MV60, 55:34).
Frome took on teams from Avon Valley, Chippenham and Corsham running clubs at the Mob Match in Bradford on Avon, involving a 12km offroad route.

The men's team finished second to hosts Avon Valley, with Arthur Taylor second overall in 47:48.
Other mens' results: Ian Holmes (MV40, 54:33), Keith Robinson (MV60, 56:10), Dan Berryman 57:24, Dave Williams (MV50, 1:00:11), Nick Best (MV40, 1:05:07), Martin Taylor (MV50, 1:08:56).
The Frome ladies' team finished in third, led home by Jacqui Betts (FV45) in 1:10:02.
Sharon Arnold (FV40) finished in a creditable 1:19:30 on her return from injury.
Debbie Roberts (FV40) completed the race in 1:21:01, while Kate Wareham (FV35, 1:28:29) and Sophie Bryan (1:28:30) were also in the Frome line-up.
Two Devon holiday resorts attracted Frome competitors, with Judy Bryant (FV45) and Robin-Mark Schols (MV50) taking part in the Torbay Half Marathon.
Bryant completed the course in 2:13:37, knocking four minutes off her personal best, while Schols finished in 1:33:01, two minutes faster than his previous best at the event.
Frome had competitors in both events at the North Devon Marathon and Half Marathon, which started at Woolacombe.
In the half marathon, the eight-strong Frome contingent were led home by club chair Georgie Starkie in a time of 1:49:47, picking up third spot in the women's standings.
Dan Berryman was first Frome man home in 1:54:46 and the other finishers were Jo Fordham (FV40, 2:13:38), Jacqui Betts (FV45, 2:15:07), Michelle Caines (FV35, 2:19:41), Martin Taylor (MV50, 2:27:22), Lucy Gaffney (FV40, 2:28:36) and John Boulton (MV50, 2:28:38).
In the marathon, experienced off-road runner Ian Holmes (MV40) was the first Frome runner home in 4:08:24.
Marcus Gaffney (MV40) completed the race in 4:52:40 and Richard Riley (MV50) in 5:11:45.
