Robotics day proves a successful school mission
"THE best day ever" and "one of the most fun things I have ever done in school" are just some of the ways pupils at a Nailsea primary school described a visit from Wessex Setpoint, which included making their very own robot.
Year 5 pupils from Golden Valley Primary School were very excited to combine their learning on climate change and develop their computer programming skills during the visit from Wessex Setpoint, which is based in Bath and inspires young people about science, engineering and technology.

After building robots ,the pupils worked in teams to plan a series of missions for their robots to complete. This then resulted in a competition where they boys and girls had to test their missions against the clock.
At the end of the day prizes were awarded for programming and teamwork.
This is the first time the year group had experienced such a visit, but after its success they may well get the chance to work with Setpoint again in Year 6.
