Robins pegged back after Salter goal
Thatcham Town 1 Frome Town 1
Frome Town bounced back from a 4-0 defeat at North Leigh on Saturday to pick up a point at Thatcham.
Ricky Hulbert set up Mark Salter for the opening goal on 27 minutes after the hosts had earlier had a penalty appeal turned down.
Ashley Caldwell headed against the bar from a Mike Reaney cross after the break but Thatcham began to take control and equalised through a long-range free-kick from Dean Stow with 15 minutes remaining.
The visitors had chances to win it, with Hulbert's shot tipped over and Craig Fullam's header cleared off the line from the resulting corner, but the scores finished level as Frome stayed in sixth place in Zamaretto Division 1 South & West.
On Saturday, Frome host VT FC, who are one place and three points behind them in the league but with seven games in hand and having won their last four matches.
Town then have another home game against Mangotsfield United next Thursday.
Following last week's announcement of the setting up of a youth structure within Frome Town, the club have announced the appointments of Jamie Malley and Jon Curle as the youth development team.
Malley has served as club welfare officer at Frome Town Sports for four years and both are qualified coaches, currently working towards the newly-introduced FA Youth Coaching Modules.
They have already made contact with local schools and will be looking to provide after-school coaching and football clubs during the school holidays in addition to the general weekly training and games.
Frome Town manager Darren Perrin said: "We are all behind these developments and I am looking forward to seeing the youth section develop and flourish.
"I know it is difficult to bring clubs together but Melksham have just done it and I believe it has to be the best thing for the kids in Frome to all be part of the same club.
"It will be good to have the young players identifying with the senior team, and aspiring to be part of it."
Meanwhile Jon Curle added: "We are delighted to be working with everybody at Frome Town on this and we have got a lot of work to do over the next few months.
"If any players, parents, coaches or volunteers want to find out more about our plans and how they can be involved in this exciting project, they should contact us through Frome Town or by email on youth@frometownfc.co.uk."
A presentation will be held at Frome Town FC on March 20 at 1pm.
