Road shut as fire crews tackle blaze
THE A30 at East Stour was closed for almost an hour on Tuesday afternoon as firefighters battled a house blaze nearby.
Two crews from Shaftesbury and one from Gillingham tackled the fire in a top floor bedroom of a property on Front Street after smoke was seen coming from a window.
The road was shut by police at 2.34pm and reopened again at 3.26pm.
One fire crew and fire investigation officer remained at the scene for a number of hours to investigate the incident.
