Tardis lands for Dr Who fan's birthday
AN EXACT replica of Dr Who's Tardis has materialised in a Chard back garden – much to the delight of one of the Time Lord's biggest fans.
Zachary Smith arrived back at his home the day after his fifth birthday to find the Type 40 time machine waiting and ready to go.
Made by Zachary's father Lee and grandfather David Macklin, the Tardis was perfect in every detail, including the real Tardis's inability to land where and when it is supposed to.
For Mr Smith and his father-in-law, who took two weeks to make the replica, had hoped to have it ready as a surprise for Zachary's birthday.

Zachary, who has his own Doctor Who costume, like his hero, actor Matt Smith, said: "I think it's cool."
His mother, Anna, said: "We just didn't have time to finish it for his birthday so the next day I took Zachary out and Lee and my father brought it over in pieces from a garage in Yeovil where they had made it.
"When Zachary saw it his jaw just dropped."
Sadly, Mr Smith was not able to make it bigger inside than outside, but like the real thing its "chameleon circuit", which allows a Tardis to blend in with surroundings, seems to be broken, for it too has remained in the shape of a police box.
