FARRINGTON HOOTENANNY
Since it held its first Farrington Hootenanny in 2007 the organisers have continued to provide music enthusiasts with top class entertainment and on Saturday, September 19 arguably the biggest name yet will be appearing at the venue.
Angie Palmer, who has been described by Radio 2's Bob Harris as "One of Britain's greatest singer-songwriters", will be making Farrington the first date on her UK date.
It is a real coup for the organisers who back her up with Richard Kennedy and the Appletree Boys.
Angie moves easily between gentle folksy rootsy Americana and more aggressive country-blues, even hinting at bluesy rock.
Guitarist Richard Kennedy, who grew up in New Zealand but now lives in Frome, plays slinky bluesy country-tinged material.
The Appletree Boys are an acoustic duo who took their name from the local pub in Shoscombe.
Doors open at 8pm.
Tickets cost £10 on the door or £8 in advance.
