Amanda Redman gets her 'something blue' at lavish West wedding
Actress Amanda Redman married her boyfriend Damian Schnabel in a romantic West Country wedding.
The couple wed in front of 200 friends and family at the 13th century Maunsel House in Taunton, Somerset, on Saturday.
The New Tricks star, 53, looked stunning as she walked down the aisle in a white halterneck gown by British designer Ritva Westenius.
Her new husband, mobile phone designer Schnabel, 38, looked dapper in a bright blue suit.
Among the celebrity guests in attendance were actors Sheila Hancock, Dennis Waterman, Ray Winstone and James Bolam.
Speaking before the big day, Redman said the reception would be "very boozy" because so many of their friends were in the acting or advertising industry.
Last week, she told the Daily Mirror she was worried about running out of alcohol.
She said: "We are having a lot of booze and my horror would be to run out.
"We always hold parties at our house and we want people to have fun. I would be horrified if they stood there thinking they wanted to go home."
Fortunately the weather held up, so the reception took place under a roofed pergola situated in the 100 acres of parkland.
The bride was attended by her daughter Emily Glenister, 23, as a bridesmaid, along with best friends Freda and Liz. Emily's father is Redman's first husband, actor Robert Glenister, who she divorced in 1992 after eight years of marriage.
The actress has been hitting the gym for two-and-a-half hours a day, five days a week and banning carbohydrates and wine from her diet to fit into her dress.
The couple's wedding comes six months after they announced their secret engagement, which happened on holiday last year. The bride and groom originally met and started dating in 1999, but split four years later, before reuniting again in 2006.
In a recent interview with Good Housekeeping magazine, Redman credited Schnabel's mature outlook with letting her indulge her youthful side. She said: "Neither one of us is the more dominant – we just sit very easily with one another. I just adore his company.
"I'm the one giving him a young outlook – he's like an old man. He's far more grown-up than me and that works brilliantly. To have someone who's more mature than me in every way apart from physically is marvellous, frankly."
