Recycling centre changes to cut queues
CHANGES to a busy recycling centre have been unveiled in a bid to cut queues.
Traffic flow at the Yeovil centre has been reversed with the old exit becoming the new entrance.
There is now an automatic barrier to restrict entry, and a new drop-off area for large white goods such as fridges and washing machines has been created.
Operator Somerset Waste Partnership says the alterations will reduce the amount of time visitors spend at the Artillery Road site.

Somerset Waste Partnership managing director Steve Read said: "These changes should all make the centre easier to use, helping customers save time while recycling more.
"If anything is unclear, visitors should check the signs or ask for help from the centre staff."
The Yeovil site is one of Somerset's busiest. It received almost 106,000 visitors last year.
Operating hours are unchanged, with the centre open on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays between 8am and 4pm, on Sundays between 8am and 1pm, and on Mondays from 8am to 7pm.
The site is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
When the Yeovil centre is closed, other sites in Crewkerne and Castle Cary are open for customers.
The tip remains free to use but there are charges for non-household goods including hard core building waste, soil, gas bottles and tyres.
Residents can leave asbestos but should contact the site in advance to ensure there is space.
Plasterboard, window glass and beverage cartons can also be disposed at the site.
