The 2013 season at Mendip Golf Club started with a bang when a record entry of 132 players took part in the Captains' Drive-in competition.

Using a shotgun start, the competitors were able to use main greens and tees, despite the recent weather.

With the main field full, those who missed out on entry to the competition made use of Little Mendip, a six-hole academy course.

Members then gathered in the clubhouse for a meal and speeches from new captain Hugh Glandfield and ladies' captain Linda Brobson.
