Rare white-rumped sandpiper bird makes unexpected Somerset arrival
This rare white-rumped sandpiper has made an unexpected arrival in Somerset.
Despite being surrounded by one of the region’s biggest construction projects – to create a wetland reserve – it has landed on the Steart peninsula.

The bird, which has been blown off course on its migration from Canada to South America, has been attracting bird watchers since the weekend.
