MORE than 500 Rainbow Guides from Weston-super-Mare gathered to celebrate the organisation's 25th anniversary.

Puxton Park hosted the girls, who got together to celebrate the history of local girl guiding. One of the aims of the gathering was for them to gain their rainbows big birthday challenge badge under the four areas of look, learn, laugh and love, a new badge introduced to mark the anniversary.

The youngsters were given a VIP tour of the dairy and the park in Hewish, including tractor rides, meeting the animals and taking part in a trail around the grounds.

Somerset North Rainbow adviser, Lucy Cowgill said: "We chose Puxton Park as the venue for our celebrations as the park has so much to see and do there."
