Larkhall 1st XI 197-7 Stratton 2nd XI 148-1 (Larkhall won rain-affected match)

Stratton's final away game of the season took them to Larkhall, where skipper Moon won the toss and put the home side in to bat.

Tight, accurate bowling from Easterling and Rummary made runs difficult to come by, Rummary picking up the only wicket in the first 16 overs with the home side having put 60 on the board.

Dropped catches cost Stratton dearly, with both Smith and Davis being put down before reaching double figures.

Cox and Rogers were then brought into the attack as the run-rate started to increase.

Moon took a driving catch from behind the stumps, while Travis then took a difficult catch to remove the hard-hitting Davis for an excellent 51.

Larkhall finally finished on a competitive total of 197-7. The pick of the bowlers was Cox, who took 2-20 from his eight overs.

In reply, Stratton started well, with both batsman looking to put the bad ball away.

Wilkinson looked well set on 24 before being caught behind off the bowling of Mitchell.

The in-form Hazell joined Travis with both players looking to increase the run-rate and dispatch any loose deliveries to the boundary.

After 25 overs, the game was in the balance, with Stratton needing 80 runs from the final 15 overs with nine wickets in hand.

With rain looking likely to affect the game, both sides focused on the run-rate.

A downpour after 30 overs brought both teams off the field with Stratton on 148-1, needing 50 more runs.

The players did not return, leaving Larkhall fortunate winners on run rate.

Man of the match Hazell finished on 51 not out and Travis 47 not out following an unbeaten partnership of 124.
