Racist attack on bus passenger
A man was assaulted in a racial attack on a bus in Weston-super-Mare.
Police said an Asian man, aged 20, was punched in the face on board a First bus.

When he got off racist comments were shouted at him by his attackers, two teenage youths.
Officers said the incident happened on February 9, at around 4.10pm. But the attack has only just been reported by police as they want witnesses to get in touch.

It is likely to be a random attack and the attackers just used words / phrases which were appropriately abusive to the victim.”

“I do not condone this attack in any way, for any reason, BUT, just because the attackers shouted a few racist comments doesn't mean the attack was racially motivated. It's important not to mis-report the fact.”
