The Status Quo concert on the Saturday of this year's Glastonbury Abbey Extravaganza has sold out.

The Extravaganza has been running since 1996 but has not had a full house since Jools Holland took to the stage in 2003.

Organiser Michael Eavis said: "We are delighted that the Extravaganza has been supported so enthusiastically this year. A sell-out is fantastic.

"I am sure that both nights of the Extravaganza will thrill the audience at the Abbey .

"We are really looking forward to welcoming both Status Quo and Bjorn Again to the Abbey on the Saturday night.

"I hope those that were disappointed that there was no classical concert last year will enjoy the fabulous line-up we have on the Sunday, with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and Aled Jones hosting and performing – not to mention our guest soloists, illuminated water fountains and a fantastic firework finale."

Tickets are still available for the Sunday, August 9, performances.

They can be bought at the Glastonbury Festival Office or Glastonbury Abbey Shop by calling in, by calling 01458 834596 or online at www.glastonburyextravaganza.co.uk.

Adult tickets are priced £30 in advance (£35 on the gate subject to availability), children aged six–16 £15, with under-6s free.

Buying 10 adult tickets will bring an 11th ticket free.
