Quantock saddles up for police role
A police horse has been named after the Quantock Hills following an appeal for name suggestions for Avon and Somerset Police's new equine recruit. Up until now, the bay Irish draught cross, newly recruited to the force, has been known as Brian. But, as he heads out on his first police duties, he will take a new name chosen by the public. He is to be known as Quantock, a name selected by Avon and Somerset Police and Crime Commissioner Sue Mountstevens from suggestions on Facebook and Twitter.
